Good features, some setup friction

We recently implemented PDWare for our Resource Management needs, specifically for Resource Capacity Planning. The software itself is robust, offering solid features for managing our team's workload and project demands. I found the Utilization Reporting particularly useful for understanding where our resources were allocated. The customer support team was generally responsive when we had questions during the initial setup phase. However, the integration with our existing project management tools wasn't as seamless as I'd hoped, requiring a bit more manual configuration than anticipated. It took about a week to get everything fully operational, which was a minor setback. Overall, it's a powerful tool for optimizing capacity, but be prepared for some hands-on work during implementation.

Effective for project financials

Used PDWare for Project Accounting. It works. The financial management features are clear. Helped streamline our project budgeting. Quick to learn. Got the job done.

Good value with annual discount

I was looking for a cost-effective solution for Agile Resource Planning and found PDWare. We opted for the annual billing to get the discount, which saved us a decent percentage compared to monthly. The initial investment felt a bit high, but once we started using the Resource Scheduling features and saw the efficiency gains, it felt worth it. It helped us better allocate our agile teams. I compared it to a few competitors, and the features for the price, especially with the prepayment discount, seemed like the best deal for our specific needs. The 14-day trial helped me decide if it was a good fit.

thinking about annual billing for a small discount. is it worth it? like how much of a discount are we talking?

P Paula 1 month ago
Yeah, annual prepay usually gets you 10-15% off compared to paying monthly. Can add up depending on your user count.

T Tara Brooks 1 month ago
Definitely worth it if you plan to stick with them. The discount is pretty standard, somewhere in that 10-15% range for annual.

How does PDWare stack up against something like Planview or Clarity PPM? Any big differences people notice?

G Greg 2 months ago
PDWare feels a bit more focused on resource management specifically, while Planview is broader. Clarity is kinda old school in comparison, IMO.

From what I gather, PDWare is really strong on resource capacity and forecasting. Planview is a big beast, more general purpose. Depends on your main pain points.

Thinking about PDWare for our team. We're a small startup, like 15 people. Is it overkill for that size, or would it still be useful?

M Marcus Whitfield 1 month ago
Hmm, I think it's more for bigger companies. I mean, it's 'enterprise-grade' so probably meant for hundreds of employees. You might find it too much for 15.

Yeah, I'd say it's probably better for larger organizations. You can always try the free demo though, see if it even fits your workflow.

We're a non-profit, does PDWare offer any special pricing for non-profit organizations?

T Todd Doyle 1 month ago
Yeah, I remember seeing something about non-profit discounts. You'd have to talk to their sales team directly for that.

M Mike Kim 1 month ago
They do! My sister's non-profit got a discount from them. Just ask about it when you're getting a quote.

Is PDWare legit? Never heard of them before but the features look good for our project portfolio stuff.

D Dana 2 months ago
They're legit. Been around for a while in the enterprise space, just not as consumer-facing as some other tools.

Totally legit. My company's been using them for a couple years for resource planning. No issues there.

Does anyone know if PDWare plays nice with Jira? We use Jira for everything, so that's a big deal for us.

S Shane C. 1 month ago
Yup, it integrates with Jira. Saw that mentioned somewhere on their site when I was checking it out.

K Kate Y. 1 month ago
They definitely support Jira integration. That's actually one of the reasons my team went with them, made things way smoother for us.

Trying to find a promo code for PDWare but not seeing any. Do they ever put out public coupons?

A Amber 1 month ago
Nah, public promo codes are super rare for them. It's more about negotiating directly.

T Troy 1 month ago
I've never seen a public code. Your best bet is to talk to their sales team, especially if you're looking at an annual plan or have a bigger team. They do discounts that way.

Just wondering about payment options, do they accept credit card or is it all invoicing and bank transfers?

W Wendy K. 2 months ago
I think they do invoicing mostly, especially for enterprise accounts. Probably depends on the contract size.
0
M Mia 2 months ago
We pay by invoice. I'd assume they have options for credit card for smaller plans but for bigger deals, it's usually direct invoicing.
